its never enough
the words that mean i love you.
they are short and gruesome.
the words that mean "don't go"
are angry and sad.
the ones that mean "i miss you",
hopeless.
words are never enough
to convey the waves of our hearts.
how much we want our loved one
to succeed beyond anyone's belief,
while still somehow keeping them
nestled under our wing
in a selfish act of love.
love is irrational.
but that word is not enough.
you make me irrational.
